The Vienna University Choir consists of approximately 300 singers who are divided into four different choral groups, two of which are women's choruses. Be it for beginners or for advanced singers, we offer you the ideal choir to suit your needs! The various choirs cater to the different musical preferences and levels of the singers and the repertoire is selected accordingly.

This group sings mainly pop, gospel and musicals although there is also an emphasis on classical music. As we usually have more women than men who are interested in singing, we attempt to encourage men to start in this group with lighter repertoire throughout the winter term. The choir counts about 80 members.

At present the choir consists of about 70 singers who are professionals, alumni and students. This choir offers singers between 25 and 50 years an opportunity of pursuing an interesting hobby as well as a chance to create a platform for professional networking for women from various professions. The rehearsals have been deliberately placed at an “after work” time so that you can sing immediately after your work. In addition, these timings enable women with smaller children to join the choir.

This choir specializes mainly in symphonic and oratorio repertoire, although spirituals and world music are also sung. The singers of this advanced choir should possess good sight-reading and singing techniques and should plan to sing with us for at least a year. Accompanying voice lessons are also offered for this chorus. In order to make the rehearsals musically interesting, it is expected that members learn part of the repertoire individually beforehand. The choir consists of about 70 singers who participate in regular weekend choral retreats and the regular rehearsals are divided into section rehearsals (each voice once a month) and full choir rehearsals.
